Janine and I wanted an exotic trip this Christmas break so we finally made the decision very late for far-away travel to go to Fiji. She met many Fijian travel professionals at a recent conference in Las Vegas and they invited us to come on down. The trip is 10-12 hours non-stop from Los Angeles for 5,500 miles. That’s a long run so we decided to break it up by stopping in Hawaii for the night. Landed in Honolulu in the late afternoon, had a couple of cocktails and had Xmas dinner on the beach in Waikiki. Went back to the hotel and slept for about three hours, returned to the airport for a 3:00 AM flight to Nadi, Fiji. Woke up in Fiji with no jet-lag for the next two weeks. Going east in the middle of the night is easy. Coming back took us about a week to get rid of the jet-lag.
