Janine and I sailed on the tall ship Kaisei out of Vancouver, BC to investigate the trash that was floating towards the United States from the Fukushima disaster in Japan. Janine organized the project and crewed the ship. I came along as a deck hand and driver. The ship set sail from Steveston, BC. Here are some of the photos of the start of that trip.
