Janine and I stayed at a former Nobleman’s retreat about an hour outside of Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The hacienda was so peaceful and beautiful it was difficult to leave. The room was gorgeous and the bed amazingly soft yet firm, and every time you left the room the staff would sneak in and fold the towels into little animals, sprinkle flower petals on the bed and in the bathroom, lay out your robe for the evening, and have soft spanish guitar music playing in the room when you returned. The food was superb and the Margaritas tasty. I have never been in a place like this.
This hacienda is a former sisal farm. The machines and railroad are still on display along with the presses and power plant.

Every day they would make animals out of all of the towels and decorate your bed, floor, bathroom with flower designs.
