Alright, here is where Albania is:
Janine wanted to explore Albania to see if it was a country with which she might be able to organize a travel group. We had a personal driver for four days and travelled around the entire country from the mountains to the beaches. Ancient ruins everywhere and we visited them all. We saw more of Albania from the inside then most people will ever see. Our driver was well educated and knew everything about every place we visited. Here are a few shots.

Albanian Countryside
Our driver wanted to show us one of his favorite swimming holes when he was a child. It’s called the Blue Hole Spring and as you can see from the photos is mesmerizing. Divers attempted to investigate the source of the spring and went down over 400 feet and still didn’t find the bottom. The spring water it very cold and crystal clear.
We just happened to be in Tirana the capitol of Albania at the height of the political demonstrations against the government for secretly selling a UNESCO flamingo habitat to the Trump family. Thousands of local people demonstrated every night for over a month. At this point the project has been halted – but who knows. We got into the demonstration and helped out.
With tens of thousands of people demonstrating against the government, we were unable to get close to our hotel by car. The hotel was so apologetic they gave us the Presidential Suite. We accepted their apology.
