Our first day in Lyon we started feeling bad. We later found out that several people on the boat tested positive for COVID. Wait, everyone was vaccinated and boosted to go on this trip??? What’s the deal??? Well, you can be vaxed all you want but still get the new B variant. SHIT!!! You might not die or go to the hospital, but you are still gonna be sick. We both tested positive and had to quarantine in the hotel for a week. It just happened to be the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel – kinda in the Ritz Carleton league. We had all of the symptoms, had all of our meals brought to the room and left outside the door, took a lot of medicine, and slept for over 16 hours per day. After a week, the hotel kicked us out since they were fully booked for that weekend and we couldn’t stay anymore. We felt a lot better and decided to put on our masks and travel to Reims – champagne country. Because, after COVID there’s nothing better to do than drink champagne.
