We were sitting on the deck bar at the Hotel Kamehameha in Kona when this young Hawaiian man in traditional clothes runs up, lights a couple of lanterns, blows the conch three times, and then runs down the walkway lighting all the remaining lanterns. It was quite the start to our trip to the Big Island.
