The Bighorn Mountains rise out of the Wyoming prairie like a huge pyramid. The ride up the west side of the mountains is a funky poorly maintained two lane road that is the steepest I have ever driven. My SUV rental could only go twenty miles per hour up the inclines with he gas pedal floored. But, once reaching the top plateau, the road widens to a normal well-maintained mountain road that meanders through green-coated meadows and tree dotted landscapes. Hurtling out of the Bighorns on the eastern side is a modern highway that any motorhome or trailered vehicle could maneuver. Anyone with a rig travels to the Bighorns from the eastern side.
