1328-Trona Pinnacles – Death Valley, CA

The Trona Pinnacles, on the way to Death Valley, are a unique geological oddity rising from the dry bed of Searles Lake. They are made of calcium carbonate and are the result of deposits made when this entire region was underwater. The pinnacles very in size from short and fat to over 140 feet tall. They sit isolated in the center of this dry lake bed and can be seen for miles.
