We hooked up to ride a zip line in the mountains. We travelled by truck two hours from the beach resorts into the jungle and passed through rural towns on narrow twisty roads up into the mountains. The Dominican Republic is a very poor country with almost 90 percent of the population in the farming business. The small towns are very colorful with chickens, dogs, and children about. Many of the small shacks are clean and as maintained as they can be.
All of the fences are made from cut trees that eventually take root and start growing again.
