Janine and I visited Chicago over Thanksgiving. The city was alive with holiday tourists and shoppers. We tried to avoid most of that crap instead visiting many of her old haunts along the way as we walked the city. Here are a few cool things we saw.
Big brother is always watching in Chicago.
Trying to be Japanese with her “V” sign.
Great old clock on the corner of the Macy’s store.
This is the ceiling in the Chicago Macy’s store. A few years ago it housed a huge Christmas tree. Budget concerns and competition have ended that tradition.
Allsaints Spitalfields is a hippster clothing store based in London.
This store front looked unassuming, but when you looked closer you saw a collection of hundreds of sewing machines.
Ferris wheel on the Navy Pier.
Ceiling in the Palmer House hotel.
We ate lunch in this old-school Chicago eatery in the heart of downtown.
