Willow, Alaska is the official start for the Iditarod race. The media and normal people start the race at the official starting point. The local crazies have their “tail-gate” party about a mile away on another frozen lake. They haul out couches, grills, porta-potties, plenty of beer, and other residential items and throw a crazy party to celebrate this race. Check out some of the photos of locals.
