1839-Iditarod-2025, AK

It was a tough year for the Iditarod Dog Sled Race in Alaska this year. There was so little snow in the southern part of the state that to present the ceremonial start of the race, the city had to truck in snow for the main street through Anchorage. The previous year there was over nine feet of snow. So much for climate change.

There is a sound you can only hear once a year and it’s the sound of over 500 hundred dogs barking at the same time as it echos between the downtown buildings. Check out sections of the video and enjoy.
