This was the pedestrian walkway as we boarded the ship in Athens.
Shit Scrapper
If you ever think you have a shitty job watch this video. This is a “real” shitty job I saw in Rome out in front of one of the main palaces. This guy was cleaning up pigeon poop in the plaza. Watch to the end to see the magnitude of the job.
Dirt Mover
As I was watching the shit scrapper I noticed a backhoe across the street doing make-work. I watched for about 15 minutes as the worker smoothed the dirt from one side of the pile to the other and then did it again in the other direction. Classic Italian work-ethic. If a job is dgod enough to do right, then doing it again makes it even more right. If you watch to the end you can see the shit scrapper in the last frame.
Lightning across Nebraska
My all-night flight to Europe crossed Nebraska and this lightning storm was out the window toward the North as the flight headed East.
Landing in San Diego
Janine and I returned from Europe touching down in San Diego. Here is a great side view of the landing as the plane descends through the buildings.
Italian Movies
I love watching local television in foreign countries – with the sound off. After some wine I get into to doing my own voice-over for the movie. This was the Italian “C-level” movie channel constantly playing Hercules and his men invade an island of all women. You can see Janine talking on the phone in the reflection of the TV screen. Eventually she told me to be quiet.
Elevator
Janine and I stayed in a six-floor walk-up B&B in Rome. Thank goodness there was a elevator. An old-school two-person ride. This was my final ride as we headed to the airport.
Reflection City
Of course this was a high reflection photo taken in Rome.
Smoking Chamber
Smoking is a heavy feature in Italy – but not in the airport. It you get off the plane and need a quick hit in the baggage claim area, you have to go into this airtight chamber to get your fix.
