The Alabama Hills are nestled next to Lone Pine in the center of the Owens Valley. Through the hills you can get to the Whitney Portal and start your hike to Mt. Whitney. But the Alabama Hills have other features that are work exploring by themselves. I have always loved Joshua Tree National Park in the High Desert near Palm Springs, CA with all of the odd shaped rocks. Alabama Hills has Joshua Tree beat into the bushes with massive and odd shaped rock fields. Enjoy the photo gallery.
