I was sitting on the front patio enjoying a nutritional supplement when I noticed a large spider dangling from the highest branch of an overhanging tree on the right of the photo. The spider spun a long line from the tree down about ten feet and waited for the breeze to swing him back and forth. Eventually the breeze swung the spider to the palm tree on the left of the photo. He tightened up the one long line and shinnied across to the original tree dragging another thread behind him. He then climbed out to the middle and began dropping vertical lines down from the main two lines. After several vertical lines were dropped he began connecting the vertical lines together forming a lattice structure between the two trees. This went on for over thirty minutes. I figured this was going to be a large web across one of the best places to catch bugs that night. I left him to his own demise and eventually found the web gone in the morning.
