Janine and I were invited to a travel conference for a 6 day cruise on the Rhone River in France. We started on the river cruise and then planned to go to Paris and Reims champagne country finally ending up in Amsterdam.
We landed in Marseilles and spent the night at the Intercontinental Hotel. This trip was partly sponsored by the hotel chain so we had an amazing room overlooking the harbor.
We bussed to Avignon to get on the boat and begin the 300 mile voyage to Lyon. This was our first venture out of the country in almost two and a half years and we felt safe with everyone on the boat required to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID.
