Tower Bridge is a vertical lift bridge across the Sacramento River, linking West Sacramento in Yolo County to the west, with the capital in Sacramento County to the east. This is a beautiful old iron bridge built in the Eiffel Tower style of girders and pillars. Painted gold, it sparkles in the late afternoon sun that reflects onto the water. A local tourist pirate ship made a daily run down the river so I waited for the shot as the sun lit the bridge and the ship cruised through.
When the horn is sounded indicating an opening, all of the pigeons take off.

Bridge up waiting for pirate ship to pass.
