Left Victoria this AM and rode two hours to Nanaimo where I caught the ferry to North Vancouver and the Trans-Canadian Highway north. This was an easy ferry ride compared to the one from Port Angeles to Victoria. This ride, the bikes got on first on a dry ferry roadbed and parked up front and were the first off. No slipping on wet oily metal floors. Glad my ferry days are over. Rode a couple of hundred miles at 50 degrees and pouring rain. Not a fun ride. Finally appeared in Pemberton and pulled off into a family run lodge. I’m ready for the long haul starting tomorrow.

This was the weather – cold and rainy.

Leaving port to North Vancouver.

I guess this their version of Sasquatch.
