China Hot Springs is literally at the end of the road fifty miles outside of Fairbanks, AK. It is a world-famous destination for northern lights observers. It is one of the most northern places you can drive and is one of the darkest. So if you are going to seen the aurora borealis, this is where you want to go. There is also another interested (hoax?) about Chena Hot Springs. It has become a cult destination for Asians who believe that if you conceive a child while the northern lights are happening, your child will be somehow be luckier, better – and be a boy. I don’t know if it is true or not, but we were the only Caucasians at the resort that weekend.
