1325-Ubehebe Crater – Death Valley, CA

The Ubehebe Crater is an amazing volcanic crater in the heart of Death Valley. It’s about 50 miles from Stovepipe Wells and is worth the drive. You can stay in the parking lot and take great photos or hike a short distance to the top of the decider cone or to the bottom of the crater. The volcano was about 5,000 – 7,000 years ago and shot debris for miles in all direction to coat the surrounding area with a top coat of cinder-ash.
