Tahai is one of the beautiful parks that dot the Easter Island landscape. Tourism is the main source of income for the island and the government has established a park system to preserve the island culture and generate revenue. Our lodge was on the other side of the park so everyday we walked through Tahai to get to the downtown areas.
The Moai eyes are added only when the statue was in it’s final position.
