The Grand Canyon is one of the most awe inspiring natural wonders in the world. I hadn’t been there since eighth grade as a Boy Scout. During that time I only saw the main canyon section and then hiked to Phantom Ranch down the Kaibab trail. This time I wanted to see the entire canyon beginning at the Little Colorado River at the Eastern gate of the park.
The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and achieves a depth of 6,000 feet. It believed the canyon began it’s course 17 million years ago.
