The initial drive from Anchorage, AK to Tok was a beautiful beginning for the journey. The skies were blue and I drove most of the way with the windows down. Tok is a one-horse town with a stop sign in the middle of nowhere.

They bus the blue hairs from the Alaska cruise ships around the state stopping here on their way from Fairbanks to Valdez or Anchorage. They march them in and out like traveling drones. Yikes.
This is the speed trap my friends told me about. All of a sudden the speed limit goes from 65 to 25 in about twenty feet. The cops hide in the bushes as they would in any other Southern USA town. Buford Pusser would be proud.

This is the high-class shack I stayed at in Tok. The best hotel in town.
